50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

JOIN US! The Truro Historical Society will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this season with a party at the Truro Vineyards and South Hollow Spirits on Saturday, July 22, from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $75 each.  Music by Nicholas Suchecki, Drinks, appetizers, a Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream Bar, Live and Silent Auction. Live Auction Items

Jobi Pottery Party

Up to 4 adults, approx. 3 hours

A chance to have a lot of fun and be creative with friends or family. An afternoon or evening private session at Jobi Pottery Studio; 5 pieces of pottery each, all materials, all firings.

 

 

 

Del Filardi Sculpture

Del Filardi, who owned and operated Blue Heron Gallery in Wellfleet for twenty years, is also a well known and sought after metal sculptor. This special piece includes a stone collected by Del from the “9/11” crash site of United Airlines Flight #93 in Shanksville, PA.

 

 

 

Sight Seeing Plane Ride

Enjoy a wonderful 45-50 minute scenic airplane tour for 2 people over the “Outer Cape”. Former Truro Police Chief Kyle Takakjian will be your pilot and guide in this beautiful Cessna.The high wing enables magnificent views of the ponds, kettle holes, marshes, tidal flats, shellfish grants, beaches and the Cape Cod National Seashore.

 

East Harbor Oysters and Shucker

100 oysters from Truro’s East Harbor Oyster Farm will be shucked for you by Adam Howe, son of our president. Host an event with a raw oyster bar or have oysters delivered already shucked.

 

 

Golf at Highland Links

Heralded as Cape Cod’s oldest golf course, the Highland Links are perched high along windswept bluffs overlooking the Atlantic next to Cape Cod Light. Founded in 1892, it features deep natural rough, Scotch broom, heath, non-irrigated open fairways, and spectacular ocean views.This auction item includes two gift certificates for 9 holes of golf for two, including a cart. Use the gift certificates together to host a mini tournament or combine them to play 18 holes with a friend.



Terra Luna Dinner

Chef Tony Pasquale presents a Chef’s Table dinner for six. This memorable culinary experience, using locally sourced ingredients, includes a special multi-course menu with wine pairings.

 

 

 

 

Schooney Fishing Trip

Event at Highland House Museum

With your winning bid you will be able to host a memorable event at the Highland House for up to 100 people. Celebrate a birthday, anniversary or wedding at one of Truro’s best-known landmarks with views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Highland Links and the Highland Lighthouse. Subject to availability during the 2017 or 2018 seasons (June through September).

Susan Howe Music & Speaker Series

We are very pleased and excited to announce the establishment of the Truro Historical Society’s Susan Howe Music & Speaker Series established in her honor due to the generosity of the Truro community, her family and her many friends and colleagues. In establishing this series, Susan’s commitment to Truro’s history and culture will live on and provide inspiration to all.

We will strive to develop and bring a program of inspiring authors, artists, historians, and musicians to the museum each season to share their knowledge and talent with the community and visitors to Truro.
