Peter Burgess – “Three Centuries at Tashmuit: A Time-travelers Tour of the Highland Area”

Board 3 Single RoadWednesday, July 27th at 7 PM

Tashmuit was known to the Nauset Indians as “a place of springs”.  Its inhabitants were intimately connected with Truro history for three centuries, yet its significance was forgotten after Highland House and Highland Light became tourist attractions.   Come find out why in 1700 one of the first acts of the Proprietors was to build a road to Tashmuit.

Come learn about the Indian and African slavery there.  Your historical vision will acquire a wide-angle view in space, through depth in time.
