Summer Community Project – 2023
Purpose of Project
The goal of the project is for people to paint, tile, collage, mosaic, or otherwise decorate a hanging 3-peg wooden wall unit we’re calling “Hang It All!” that will be donated to the Highland House Museum. This unit can be hung on the wall and used to hang keys, caps or hats, dishcloths, guest towels or just about anything you like!
If the artist chooses to OMIT the 3 pegs, the piece can be made as a tabletop trivet or decorative wooden tray. Use your imagination, there is NO theme to this year’s project.
Project Guidelines:
We encourage artists and participants to create a unique one-of-a-kind piece with any variety of materials, inks, paint, tile, or collage that you wish. There is no specific theme, but please be sure to sign the back of your work.
What Happens Next?
The “Hang It All” will then by DONATED by the artist to be installed in an exhibition show in the lobby of the Highland House Museum, summer of 2023. Visitors will be able to see them and bid on them during regular Museum hours. All of the pieces will be available for sale at a silent auction fundraiser to benefit the Truro Historical Society and Highland House Museum.
Project Schedule and Deadlines:
- Participants may pick up their “Hang It All” for NO CHARGE from JOBI Pottery at 314 Rt 6 in Truro (next to Savory and Sweet Escapes, across from Truro Central School)
- July 1, 2023 — Deadline for all artists to deliver the project to the Highland House Museum in North Truro. Please be sure to sign the back of the project and provide contact information when delivering. Museum hours can be found here: Highland House Museum
