“Mayflower Stories of Sadness and Strength”

July 29, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Mayflower Stories of Sadness and Strength”
Join us for a program with Peter Arenstam, historian and author of the children’s book The Mighty Mastiff of the Mayflower. Arenstam explores the personal trials endured by the families of the historic ship that sailed for 66 days at the height of the storm season in the fall of 1620. Of the 102 passengers aboard the historic ship, 32 were children, 14 were servants, and 6 were crew members. There were also two dogs–a Mastiff and a spaniel. Arenstam will reveal how the stories of the Mayflower passengers offer fascinating insights into the challenging conditions aboard the ship and the difficulties that the passengers faced once they landed.
