The foregoing after being several times read was voted nem com to be expressive of the sentiments of the town and that it be recorded on the town Book and a fair copy attested by the town Clerk be transmitted to the committee of carespondence[sic] of the town of Boston. Voted that the foregoing committee be a standing Committee of carespondence[sic] of this town.

At a meeting of the free holders and other inhabitants of the town of Truro legally assembled by adjournment on Monday the 25 day of January 1773 the Committee chosen at a former meeting to take into consideration a letter communicated by the Selectmen from the town of Boston with a pamphlet enclosed and prepare an answer reported the following viz: To the committee of correspondence of the town of Boston. Gentlemen, In your obliging letter of the 20th of November last you desire a free communication our sentiments of our common Danger having duly considered your said letter and the pamphlet enclosed we are of opinion that our rights as men as christians and subjects were therein well stated and that in many instances these rights were violated and infringed and that the intolerable grievances we at present labor under and which are daily increasing upon us threat(en) the final ruin of our happy and glourious Constitution which to prevent we will readily concur with our bretheren [sic] in every part of the province in all legal and constitutional measures to recover our lost rights and liberties and in defence of these we still enjoy we return our sincere and hearty thanks to the town of Boston for their e and vigilance and care of our public rights and liberties and may the all wise governor of the universe direct us all in such as manner as will obtain a redress of all our gievance [sic] and fix our rights and liberties on a solid and lasting foundation which is the prayer gentlemen of your sincere friends in the common cause of liberty and our country by order and in behalf of the town
