Paper, clay and acrylic; not food safe
Valerie Falk studied sculpture with Jose de Creeft at the Art Students League of New York, and at Columbia University. She holds a BA and MA in Art History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Falk is a member of the Truro Group and has shown in various group shows locally on the Outer Cape and in New York City. In 2014, she had a solo show in the Truro COA Gallery.
Valerie’s work is part of several private collections, including Napi Van Dereck’s Provincetown collection. Falk also had a long career as a beloved and highly creative teacher of young children, especially her own.
In making her dragon plate, Valerie used Paperclay, a commercial, paper-mache product that can be shaped and manipulated like clay. It dries to a hard, durable material that can be sanded and painted.
